About Us

History

Susan began her career as a commissioned officer in the United States Army where she served as a helicopter pilot and maintenance test pilot in the US and Germany. Susan has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional certifications. Susan is currently an Adjunct Instructor for Austin Community College and Temple College teaching the HR Certification Prep Course. She served as a volunteer leader in local and state SHRM Chapters for over 10 years. Susan currently volunteers as an ombudsman for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a role that blends her knowledge of both HR and military.

Susan founded forWord Connections provide clients human resources solutions that achieve their business goals by developing targeted workforce strategies and streamlining human resources processes. forWord Connections teams with clients to bring management, human resources, and training services that will improve productivity, efficiency, communication and employee morale.Susan brings a unique perspective that leverages her vast management experience. Her human resources knowledge and skills have been formed in companies that range from start-ups to Fortune 500s. She thrived in the public, private and non-profit sectors and flourished in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics testing, municipal government, utilities, and healthcare services industries. In addition to her human resources management experience, Susan performed management functions including operations, production, process development, inventory control and shipping/receiving.
